The Editor-in-Chief of the journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs welcomes all studies related to the field of Urban Planning, ranging from Design to Technology and from Practice to Humanities. JCUA is published as two continuous online issues per year, with rapid publication as soon as articles are ready, thus ensuring authors do not experience unnecessary delays. All submissions are subjected to a double blind peer-review, which has been shown to decrease gender bias in publication. There is no processing charge at all for contributors, meaning that the journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs is free and has open access for authors as well as readers.

To start the review process, the authors should submit a minimum of two files.

a) Cover Letter - Sample of Cover Letter.

 b) Manuscript- Sample of Manuscript.

The following checklist should be used when preparing an article for submission to the journal of Contemporary urban affairs. Please be sure to follow the specifications exactly and completely to ensure that your article is reviewed in a timely manner.

- The paper should be created using Microsoft Word and should be between 4,000 and 7,000 words in length.

- The paper is typewritten, double spaced, and formatted to print on 8.5'' x 11'' (or A4) size paper.

-The first page of the article includes the following:

*A brief title that is descriptive of the paper’s contents.

*The name(s), professional or academic affiliation(s), and email address (es) of the corresponding author should be submitted separately in cover letter.

*A 45-character running title.

 *an approximately 200-word abstract that emphasizes the paper’s contribution to the field.

 The body of the paper includes the following:

- An introduction to the subject

- Background information

-Material and method

- Discussion of procedure

- Results

- Conclusions

- Acknowledgments (Must); If funding for the research was received from non-personal sources, the sources must be identified in the acknowledgments.

- References

The manuscript and any table files should be submitted by journal’s website. Materials should be submitted as digital files if at all possible. Bear in mind that ONLY original works neither published nor under review elsewhere will be considered.

Peer Review Statement

All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by two referees.

The manuscript submission and peer review process is broken down into the following steps:

  1.  The Author submits a manuscript.
  2.  The Editor assigns Reviewers to the manuscript.
  3. The Reviewers review the manuscript.
  4. The Editor drafts a decision to be sent to the Author.

Ethics and Responsibilities of Authors

Articles submitted to the journal of contemporary urban affairs should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for publication in any other journal.

The manuscript will be subjected to blind review by up to two referees. Revisions may be required before a decision is made to accept or reject the paper. Please note that once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, no further changes can be made. Therefore please ensure your manuscript is as complete and up to date as possible prior to submission.

Also note that papers submitted to this journal will be assessed for the quality of their written English as part of an initial Quality Check. If the quality of the language is unsuitable for review, we will request that you use a language editing service or similar in order for us to proceed. It is therefore recommended that authors use these services ahead of submission, where appropriate.

Copyright and Permissions

The author bears the responsibility for checking whether material submitted is subject to copyright or ownership rights, e.g. figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, trade literature and data. The author will need to obtain permission to reproduce any such items, and include these permissions with their final submission. Where use is so restricted, the editorial office and Publisher must be informed with the final submission of the material. Please add any necessary acknowledgments to the typescript, preferably in the form of an Acknowledgments section at the end of the paper. Credit the source and copyright of photographs, figures, illustrations etc. in the supplementary captions.
