Aims and Scope

In an era of increasing socio-economic disparities and rapid urbanization, the Journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs recognizes the urgent need to address the widening socio-economic gaps impacting modern urban societies. Balancing socio-economic development with resilience in the built environment presents complex challenges that require innovative and interdisciplinary dialogue. The journal aims to advance original, cross-disciplinary academic contributions that analyze these socio-economic divides and propose actionable solutions to bridge them. By focusing on three core areas—Citizenship Rights and Responsibilities, Territorial Dynamics, and Urban Transformations—we seek to illuminate the factors contributing to socio-economic inequalities and explore emerging challenges shaping urban landscapes. Central to these efforts is examining how social and economic factors influence urban development and architectural practices. Through this approach, the journal aspires to contribute meaningfully to the discourse on equitable urban development and foster scholarship that informs policy and practice, ultimately helping to create more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.
